Renowned Islamic scholar Dr Israr Ahmed is dead

Renowned Muslim scholar and the head and founder of Tanzeem-e-Islami, Dr Israr Ahmad passed away on Tuesday night in Lahore after a prolonged illness. Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajioon, Allaahumma ajirnee  fee museebatee wakh-luf lee khayran minhaa (verily we belong to Allah and verily to Him we must return Oh Allah grant me refuge in my affliction and replay him with someone better.)

According to son of veteran Islamic scholar, Dr Israr Ahmed was suffering from back pain and heart disorders for a long time and he felt severe back pain on Tuesday night.  Dr. Israr refused to go to the hospital and Dr. Aamir Aziz checked him at his residence. The renowned scholar breathed his last at 3:30am.
Dr. Israr Ahmad was born on April 26, 1932 in Hisar (a district of East Punjab, now a part of Haryana) in India, the second son of a government servant.
Dr Israr Ahmad was bestowed with a Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 1981 for his services in the field of religion.  Dr Israr had spent the last four decades in reviving Quran centered Islamic philosophy and staunchly believed in the establishment of an Islamic political system in the country.
Chairman Senate Farooq H. Naek, Deputy Chairman Senate Jan Muhammad Jamali, Speaker National Assembly Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi and other political and religious scholars have expressed their deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of renowned religious scholar.
The leader of the House in Senate, Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari and Leader of the opposition in the Senate Wasim Sajjad had also condoled the death of Dr. Israr Ahmed.
They offered their heart felt condolences over his death and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant fortitude to the members of the bereaved family.
