Juma tul Wida – the Last Friday of Ramadan

Juma-tul-Wida is the Last Friday of Ramadan. The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said” any one who worships Allah in Friday will receive protection from Allah for the entire week”. The importance of Friday is more then other days of the week. The Prophet Mohammad said: “Allah Almighty forgives the sins committed between two Fridays of the one who performs his Friday Namaaz regularly”. Juma-tu-Wida is the day of acceptance of prays (Dua).

Sayyid Ibn Tawus and Shaykh al-Saduq have both narrated the following on the authority of Jabir ibn `Abdullah al-Ansariy: I visited the Messenger of Allah (a.s) on the last Friday of Ramadan. As he saw me, he said, “Jabir: This is the last Friday of Ramadan. You should thus bid it farewell by saying the following:

اللّهُمّ لا تَجْعَلهُ آخِرَ العَهْدِ مِنْ صِيَامِنَا إِيَّاهُ

(allahumma la taj`alhu akhira al`ahdi min siyamina iyyahu)
“O Allah: (please) do not make it the last of our fasting in this month;”

فَإِنْ جَعَلْتَهُ فَاجْعَلْنِي مَرْحُوماً وَلا تَجْعَلْنِي مَحْرُوما.

(fa-in ja`altahu faj`alny marhuman wa la taj`alny mahruman)
“But if you decide so, then (please) make me enjoy (Your) mercy and do not make me deprived (of it)”.

Friday is like day of Eid for Muslims because there are much similarity between Eid and Friday. On both days Muslims offer prayer 2 Rakat namaz and they listen Khutbah of Immam. Both Namaz can not be Qaza.

The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said the first person who enter the mosque for Friday prayer will get the reward of the charity of a camel, the second person will be rewarded with the charity of a cow, the third person will receive the reward the charity of a sheep, the fourth person the charity of a chicken, the fifth person charity of an egg”.

Correct Procedure to Pray Salat ul Tasbih (For forgiveness of All Sins)

Benefits of Salat-Ul-Tasbih

Our Beloved Prophet Mohammed (Sallallaho Alihiwassallam) said to his uncle (father’s brother) Sayyiduna Abbass (may Allah be pleased with him) Oh uncle shall I not give you Shall I not grant you Shall I not award you Shall I not do mercy on you When you do 10 things Allah will forgive your sins: of the future and of the past; new and old; those you have forgotten and those you did knowingly; big and small; hidden and revealed. Then he (Sallallaho Alihiwassallam) explained the taught the way to pray Salatul Tasbih and then said if you can pray this salah once a day, if you can not pray once a day then every Friday, and even if this is not possible then once a month and even if this is not possible then once a year and even if this is not possible then at least once in a lifetime (Abu’Dawood & Tirimzi)

How to perform Salatul Tasbih?
This salaat (namaz) is offered in four rakat at a time and can be read in any part of the day and night besides Zawal and Sunrise and Sunset makrooh times, keeping in mind the forbidden times for performing Salat (namaaz). But is is preferred before Zuhr (Fatawa Alamgeeri)

The Tasbih to be read in Salaat-Ul-Tasbeeh:
” Subhaan Allahi Wal Hamdulillahi Wa Laa ilaha illal Laahu Wallahu Akbar “

Method:
Goal is to recite above Tasbih 300 times in Four Rakah with the following method.
In the first rakaat, after reading Sana “Subhaana Kallahumma…”, read the above tasbih 15 times.
Now recite Aaoz “Aoozubillah…”, Bismillah “Bismillah…”, Then read sura Fatiha and a Surah or minimum of three small Ayayhs then read the tasbih 10 times again.

Go to ruku saying Takbeer (Allah Hoo Akbar), after reciting “Subhaana Rabbiyal Azeem” minimum of three times read the tasbih 10 times in Ruku.
Saying “Samee Allahu Liman Hamidah Rabbana Lakal Hamdh” get up from ruku to qiyam position.
Now read the tasbih 10 times.

Go to Sajdah saying Takbeer (Allah Hoo Akbar) and after reciting “Subhaana Rabbiyal A’la” minimum of three times read the tasbih 10 times in Sajdah.

Now go after first Sajdah go to Jalsa (sitting position) saying Takbeer (Allah Hoo Akbar). Sitting in Jalsa read tasbih 10 times.

Go to sajda again saying Takbeer (Allah Hoo Akbar) and after reciting “Subhaana Rabbiyal A’la” minimum of three times read the tasbih 10 times in Sajdah again.

Get up to begin 2nd rakat saying Takbeer (Allah Hoo Akbar).
Do rakah #2 in same fashion, but before reading Bismillah “Bismillah…”, and Surah Fatiha, read the tasbih 15 times. Follow the rest as you did in first Rakat.

After second Sajdah of Second Rakat sit in Qaidah Oola (first sitting) read Attahiyat, Durood and Dua then get up for 3rd rakaat without saying Salam.

Begin third Rakat, just like the first Rakat, with Sana “Subhaana Kallahumma…”, read the above tasbih 15 times. Follow the rest as you did in first Rakat untill you sit for Qaidah Akihra (last sitting) after second sajdah of fourth Rakah.

In Qaidah Akihra Attahiyat, Durood, Dua finish Salah with Salam.

Special notes for Salat-Ul-Tasbih:
1) Do not count loudly. It will break Salah
2) Do not count on fingers or by holding a Bead Tasbih in hand. It is Makruh.
3) You may count by pressing the fingers as a reminder. For example if you are in Ruku. You me press pinky of your right hand first for the first count, then the finger next to it for second count, then the middle finger for third count, following this method untill you reach the pinky of left hand will give you an exact count of ten. Use the same method in Qayam, Sajdah and Jalsa.
4) If missed a count then make it up in the next posture. For example if forgot to recite Tasbih after Surah in Qayam. Then you may recite Tasbish 20 times instead of 10 in Rukuh after “Subhaana Rabbiyal Azeem”. Missed Tasbih cannot be recited in Qayam after ruku and Jalsa between Sajdah. If you missed the Tasbih in Ruku then recite 20 in the first Sajdah instead of the Qayam after rukuh. Similarly if missed the Tasbih in first Sajdah then do not make it up in Jalsa. Instead recite missed tasbih in the second Sajdah. If Tasbih has been missed in last sajdah of second or fourth Rakah then you can recite the missed ones before Attahiyat in Qaidah.
5) If you miss a wajib in Salah and have to do Sajdah Sahaw. You dont have to recite Tasbih in Sajdah sahoo, since the 300 count has been estalished. But if you had missed Tasbih in any of the postures and remeber it now. Then you may recite the missed Tasbih in Sajdah Sahaw now.
6) It is preferable to recite after Surah Fatiha Sura Takathuur in the first raka’, Surah Wal A’sr in the second raka’, Surah Kaferoon (qul ya aiyuhal Kafiroon) in the third and Surah Akhlas (Qul hu Allah-hu ahd) in the fourth raka’. If one does not remember these surah they can recite the ones they prefer.

May Allah accept this dua’ (supplication) for the sake of the trustworthy PROPHET MOHAMMED (Allah’s Grace & Peace be upon him)

Google to buy Motorola Mobility for $12.5 bln in its biggest deal ever

Google Inc is paying $12.5 billion to buy phone maker Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc, its biggest-ever deal, as protection against legal challenges from Apple Inc and other mobile rivals.

The Internet search leader is building up its patent portfolio — seen as one of the weakest in the industry – after it lost out to Apple, Microsoft Corp and others in a recent auction of bankrupt Nortel’s assets.

But in buying Motorola, the developer of Android — the leading smartphone software – risks alienating the 38 other phone makers that depend on Android to run their smartphones, according to analysts.

Google CEO Larry Page sought on Monday to reassure investors this would not happen, and phone makers including Samsung Electronics Co officially said they welcomed the deal as it will also help their legal battles.

“Motorola has a strong patent portfolio which will help protect Android from anti-competitive threats from Microsoft, Apple and other companies,” Page told analysts on a conference call.

Page also explained that Motorola Mobility would be run as a separate company, licensing Android software in the same way as its rivals, which also include HTC Corp and LG Electronics.

Analysts sees the deal primarily as a way for Google to protect and build out its mobile business and questioned if it would continue manufacturing handsets in the long term.

“We don’t think they necessarily want to be in the business. They want those patents first and foremost,” said Brian Pitz, an analyst at UBS. “This is really a game of protection.”

Some analysts said the deal would hurt Android’s popularity as software platform for Motorola’s rivals.

“The danger is that other handset makers feel disenfranchised,” said Nomura Securities global technology specialist Richard Windsor. “Motorola is the weaker player. This could actually collapse the entire community.”

While Apple’s iPhone is one the most talked about phones in history, Android has managed to surpass it as the market leader. Android dominated the smartphone market with a 43.4 percent share at the end of the second quarter, ahead of Nokia’s 22 percent, according to Gartner data. Apple ranked third with 18 percent, the data showed.

Deal terms

The deal values Motorola Mobility at $40 per share in cash, a 63 percent premium to its Friday closing price. The terms of the deal also features an unusually rich reverse breakup fee of $2.5 billion, according to a source close to the situation.

“It’s a deal that will take time to pay off, but they have a lot of cash and they want to chase after profit,” BGC Partners analyst Colin Gillis said, referring to the fact that Android has not been profitable thus far.

The deal delivers a windfall for investors including activist shareholder Carl Icahn, Motorola’s largest shareholder with a stake of just over 11 percent.

Icahn had been urging Motorola to look into splitting off its patent business – one of the biggest in the industry – from its handset business which recently ranked eight in the world by research firm Gartner in terms of unit sales.

In a statement, Icahn said the deal is “a great outcome for all shareholders of Motorola Mobility.”

Shares of Motorola Mobility jumped 59 percent, while Nokia’s stock gained more than 10 percent on speculation the Finnish company is now an acquisition target.

The deal –which took Wall Street by surprise – appears to mark a shift in strategy for a company that had focused on shoring up its Internet search and advertising empire with forays into video and social networking.

As part of the deal, Google also gets Motorola’s set-top box businesses, giving its nascent TV operation a much-needed boost by providing it with a more direct route into the home.

Google said it expects the deal to close by the end of 2011 or early in 2012, and that it was confident it would gain the regulatory approvals required in the United States and Europe and the blessing of Motorola Mobility’s shareholders.

Lazard advised Google on the deal, while Motorola used Centerview Partners and Frank Quattrone’s Qatalyst Partners, sources told Reuters.

ANP to celebrate Independence Day in KPK on Aug 16

For the first time in the history of Pakistan, Awami National Party (ANP) has announced to celebrate Independence Day in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on August 15 by hoisting the national flag at the highest point in Peshawar, SAMAA reported late Sunday.

It is pertinent to mention here that the rival country of Pakistan, India will be celebrating the Independence Day on Monday, August 15. Besides, Kashmiris will be observing India’s Independence Day as ‘Black Day’.

Meanwhile, ANP leader and provincial Secretary Information Arbad Tahir, clarifying the impression, has said that due to security arrangements, the hoisting of the flag was delayed till Monday, August 15.

He said that the function may further be extended till August 16 or 17 if security agencies fail to issue security clearance.

Also, PPP’s leader Nabil Gabool, has requested the ANP leadership to change the date of celebrations, citing the past issues in connection with Ramazan and Eid’s moon sighting.

He said the government officials might have mistakenly set this date sans consent of ANP government.

He said if this is a bid for setting a trend then PPP will see the incident as ‘worrying’.

PML-N’s leader Ahsan Iqbal deplored the decision, saying that PM Gilani should immediately take notice and should order directives of cancelation of celebrations on August 16.
