Peshawar , All Government Employees Coordination Council, which started province wide protest against the non implementation of Pay and Pension Commission’s report, claimed more thousands of government employees will march towards Islamabad on June 3rd if the commission report’s implementation is delayed any further.
For the first time government employees from all departments have formed Coordination Council to press their demands for early implementation of the Pay and Pension Commission’s report which they feared would not be implemented with the induction of Abdul Hafiz as finance advisor in the federal cabinet. Around 18 Government employees Associations in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa have joined hands to protest over the delay and observed strike and protest on daily basis till June 3rd, the date they fixed for sit in before Parliament in Islamabad. Talking to PPI president All Government Employees Coordination Council Aslam Khan said around three hundred thousands government employees including Nursing Staff Association, Teachers’ Association, Clerk Association, Drafts Man, Session Court Employees, Local Government Employees, Colleges Staff Association, Irrigation and Public Health Labor Union, Veterinary staff, Government Printing Press Labor Union, Secondary Board Employees Union, IT and Technical Staff Association, School Officers’ Association, Agriculture Field Staff Association, Secretary Union Council Association, Anjuman-e-Patwarian and Qanon Goyan and Colleges Staff Association have collectively formed the Employees Coordination Council which will lead the protest towards Islamabad. Aslam Khan said Abdul Hafiz Pasha, who recently took control of the finance had hired six consultants to re-study the Pay and Pension Commission’s Report as he is not willing to implement and deprive employees of their rights. “Shaukat Tareen had formed Pay and Pension Commission which has submitted its report but the Mr. Pasha is trying to deprive the government employees of their rights which will not be allowed at any case,” he remarked. Aslam Khan said all Government Employees will gather at Peshawar City on Tuesday and will conduct their first big show which will be followed by demonstration of female employees.
