The other day I was having a word with a friend who moved to Lahore after her marriage. We were discussing how the lives of an average Lahori been affected by the recent wave of terror attacks in the city. According to her the outgoing residents of this lively city feel extremely insecure while going out. But one can’t change its life style because government has failed to provide decent security to its taxpaying citizens against a group of terrorists who are out there to change the way we live our lives. I on the other hand was feeling lucky to be living in Karachi which was considered comparatively more protected, as no major terror attack took place since the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. The local Government claimed that it’s a result of their firm security measures against the growing threat of “Talibinization”.

But like any storm there is an episode of unfathomable silence, the two year peace turned out to be same. While I am writing this post, 45 reported civilians have lost their lives, 150 or more are injured and many disfigured bodies are yet to be identified. The second tragedy that shadowed the impact of the bomb assault was an immediate attack on Pakistan’s biggest wholesale, cloth and plastic market in the same area. Thousand or more shops were burned down and business worth billions of rupees turned into ashes while the shop owners were helplessly witnessing the site. Every shop is equivalent to a family so one can only imagine what these families will go through in the coming future.

Like after any other tragic incident (which in Pakistan occur quite frequently) every tom, dick and harry (including myself ) was out there with their views, reactions and suggestions. Majority condemned the bombing and the attack on the residing market in the area, while some like always proposed the million (Afghani) dollar solution, which involved negotiation with the Zaliman (better known to them as Taliban). Now I fail to understand that whenever a terrorist attack takes place, why on earth the failed religious cum political parties, their leaders and fans proposed this flop idea or try to link the incident in Pakistan to US attack on Afghanistan? If an Afghani is killed by Nato or US troops in Kabul, does it becomes a moral and religious obligation for a Pakistani Taliban to kill a Pakistani civilian in Lahore or Karachi? And if that is the case, the argument to hold peace talks with these terrorists, is a suggestion which is criminal in nature itself.

Another absurd argument that floated; was calling the Moharram processions off or limiting it to a close compound (by close compound I guess they meant, a concentration camp). Now if these well wishers ever bothered understanding the history of Mohrram processions and its significance to the shia community, this kind of unfeeling offer would never have been given. The month of Moharram is commemorated throughout the Muslim world in remembrance of Prophet Muhammed (SAW) family and friends. In these processions, millions of Muslims register their protest against oppressing and extremists elements that are present in every era. These processions are extremely close to shia belief, calling off Moharram in other words is a suggestion to call off burial of a family member. But even if we set the above stated facts aside, can anyone claim an event when a mourner (while participating in moharram procession) ever broke law or committed a criminal act? If not then why the terror victims should pay for crimes they never committed.

These facts paint a very gloomy picture of our future, but hope is all we have. The question is, are we ready to surrender our way of living and everything that is close to our belief? If yes then how far are we ready to go with this surrendering attitude? Is this attitude going to guarantee us our lives? I don’t think so, if you are ready to surrender the very principle that represents your existence then my friend you just lost yourself the right to exist.

روزانہ کی بنیاد پر خبریں چلتی ہیں، فلاں دھماکے کا ماسٹر مائنڈ گرفتار کر لیا۔ سنسنی خیز انکشافات کی توقع۔ کشمیر میں ٹریننگ حاصل کی جہادی لٹریچر برآمد ہوا، آئیے ایک واقعہ ملاحظہ فرمائیے (حفظ ماتقدم کے طور پر شناخت ظاہر نہیں کی جا رہی) ایک صاحب نوجوان ذہین و فطین لاہور کے تعلیمی ادارے میں لیکچر دینے کیلئے بلائے گئے ناکے پر روک لئے گئے۔ پولیس نے کہا ’’تم شکل سے دہشت گرد معلوم ہوتے ہو، (مضحکہ خیز پٹیاں عوام کو بھی پڑھائی جا رہی ہیں کہ دہشت گرد ایسا ہوتا ہے) اترو اور ہمارے سوالات کے جواب دو۔ ابھی یہ صاحب پولیس گردی سے نمٹ رہے تھے کہ تعلیمی ادارے کے بھاری بھر کم ذمہ دار کا فون آ گیا کہ تم کہاں ہو۔ اب جو موبائل فون پولیس کے ہاتھ میں تھمایا گیا تو بریگیڈئر صاحب کو بات کرتے سن کر انکے چھکے چھوٹے۔ فوراً معذرتیں کیں معافیاں چاہیں ساتھ ہی سپاہی کو آواز دی کہ انکی گاڑی میں جو سامان رکھا تھا نکال لو! کیا سمجھے۔؟ اگر بریگیڈئرر صاحب کا فون نہ آتا تو اگلے دن کی خبر یہی ہوتی۔ فلاں دھماکے کا ماسٹر مائنڈ گرفتار کرلیا۔ گاڑی سے خود کش جیکٹ اور اسلحہ برآمد ہوا (سامان جو گاڑی میں رکھا جا چکا تھا) سنسنی خیز انکشافات کی توقع، اب تمام متشرع حضرات گھر سے نکلنے سے پہلے کسی کرنل، بریگیڈئر کا فون نمبر ہمراہ رکھیں۔ اللہ کے ذکر سے احتراز فرمائیں کیونکہ دہشت گرد کی علامتوں میں سے ایک اسکے ہلتے ہونٹ بھی ہیں۔ نفسیاتی مریض صرف امریکہ اور امریکی فوجی نہیں بنے ہم بھی اس نامراد، مردود جنگ دہشت گردی کے ہاتھوں نفسیاتی مریض بن چکے ہیں۔ پولیس پر شدید دباؤ ہے۔ دہشت گرد پکڑنے کا، مارنے کا، سو وہ ٹارگٹ پورا کرنے پر مجبور ہے جو مرغا پھنس جائے اس سے پہلے پشاور دھماکے کا ایک ماسٹر مائنڈ پیش فرمایا گیا تو آمنہ مسعود نے فوراً نشاندہی کر دی کہ یہ تو لاپتہ افراد میں سے ہے جو پہلے ہی ایجنسیوں کی تحویل میں تھا (وہاں بیٹھا ماسٹر مائنڈی کر رہا تھا۔؟) اسی تسلسل میں اسلام میں دہشت گرد قرار دیکر مار دئیے جانیوالا بھی ہے جو پہلے ہی تحویل میں تھا یہ نیا سلسلہ لاپتہ افراد سے چھٹکارا پانے اور دھماکے کا سراغ مل جانے کے حوالے سے سرکار کیلئے بہت کارآمد ہے لہٰذا روزانہ کی بنیاد پر یہ خبریں چل رہی ہیں۔ خبر یہ بھی ہمراہ ہے کہ مسافروں کی کڑی نگرانی کی جا رہی ہے۔ بیچارے معصوم شہریوں کو تو درج بالا شواہد اور ناکوں پر لگی لائنوں، ٹرینوں اڈوں پر گھورتی نگاہوں سے مارے ڈال رہے ہیں اور جنکی کڑی نگرانی کی ضرورت تھی وہ مسافر چکلالہ کے ہوائی اڈے سے محفوظ کالے شیشوں کی شاندار گاڑیوں اور ہیلی کاپٹروں کی اڑانوں سے آ کر اسلام آباد پر قبضہ کر چکے ہیں۔ امریکی سفیر کے تصدیق شدہ اعداد و شمار، شہر بھر میں کرائے کے گھر اور سفارتخانے کی توسیع کافی نہ تھی کہ اب اسلام آباد کے گردو نواح میں مزید مراکز کا انکشاف ہوا ہے۔ اسلام آباد کا کہوٹہ ملپور، بیگوال، سملی ڈیم روڈ پر اسلحے سے بھرے یہ مراکز ہم پر پھول برسانے کی تیاری میں ہیں؟ چلئے کڑی نہ سہی صرف نگرانی ہی کر لی ہوتی۔ وہ امریکہ جو افغانستان سے نہتے مگر ایمان سے لبریز طالبان کے ہاتھوں ذلت و خواری اٹھا رہا ہے وہ ایٹمی پاکستان میں زبردست فوج، ٹینک جہاد اسلحہ (نیوکلیائی و بارودی) ہوتے ہوئے ہمیں ناکوں چنے چبوائے؟ تف ہے ہماری بزدلی، کم ہمتی اور تہی از ایمان ہونے پر! سورۃ الانفال، توبہ کا ایک گھونٹ بھی پیا ہوتا تو آج اس حال میں نہ ہوتے۔ پامیلا خاں صاحبہ نے زائچوں کے حساب سے پاکستان کے مستقبل کی پیش گوئیاں فرمائی ہیں۔ حالانکہ… ستارہ کیا مرے احوال کی خبر دے گا وہ خود فراخیٔ افلاک میں ہے خوار و زبوں ہمارے ایمان کا سادہ سا سبق ہمیں یہ بتاتا ہے کہ دنیا و آخرت دونوں کی نور و نار انسان  اقوام کے اعمال میں مضمر ہے…ع عمل سے زندگی بنتی ہے جنت بھی جہنم بھی قوم کے مستقبل کو نہ ہاتھوں کی لکیروں نہ ستاروں کی چالوں میں تلاش کر کے ایمان گنوانے کی ضرورت ہے۔ صرف ایک ہفتے کے اخبارات اور قرآن سے سورۃ سبا اور سورۃ ہود کا مطالعہ یپشین گوئیوں سے بے نیاز کرکے دو کاموں پر لگا دے گا۔ اعمال، اموال، پالیسیوں کی درستگی اور سجدہ ریزی اس ملک کو جہنم بنانے میں اسکے ایک ایک فرد کا حصہ ہے۔ سربراہان، اپوزیشن، فوج، دینی جماعتیں، سِٹّی گم شدہ کنفیوز ہونے پر ادھار کھائے بیٹھے عوام۔ مرتے مٹتے امریکہ کو صرف ایک دھکے کی ضرورت تھی (جو ہمارا ملک اجاڑنے میں سب سے بڑا فیکٹر ہے) طالبان کو بھوت بنا کر دکھانے میں جتنے بے شمار جھوٹ بولے (یاد رہے کہ جھوٹ کی بدبو سے فرشتے دور چلے جاتے ہیں۔ آج جھوٹ کے تعفن سے سے فرشتوں کا یہاں رہنا دوبھر ہے) بہتان گھڑے، امریکہ کے حکم پر اپنے ان بہترین دوستوں کو بدترین دشمن بنایا اگر ہم صرف ایک سچ بول دیتے کہ یہ جنگ دہشت گردی، امریکہ کی اسلام کیخلاف عالمی غنڈہ گردی ہے اسکا ساتھ دینا نہ ہمارا ایمان نہ ضمیر گوارا کر سکتا ہے نہ ہم اسے مسلم افغان ہمسایوں کیخلاف تعاون کر سکتے ہیں مگر ایمان اور ضمیر کیونکہ لاپتہ کی فہرست میں ہیں لہٰذا آج یہ دن ہم دیکھ رہے ہیں کہیں سے ان دونوں کو بازیاب کروا لیں تو امریکہ گرتی ہوئی دیوار ہے اور ہمارے پاس اسے گرانے کو تمام اسباب و وسائل موجود ہیں۔ آخر تڑپ تڑپ کر ہم کیوں کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے امریکہ کی خاطر اتنی قربانیاں دیں۔ ہمیں اس کا صلہ نہ دیا گیا۔ یہ اقرارِ جرم ہے دنیا میں بھی اور آخرت میں بھی یہی ثبوت ہے۔ اب حکم ہو رہا ہے کہ مزید اسے شمالی وزیرستان فتح کرنے پر ملیں گے۔ ایسی پاگل قوم تاریخ میں کیسے حروف سے لکھی جائیگی جس نے اپنی آنکھیں دل گردے سبھی نکال کر دشمن کو ٹرے میں سجا کر دے دئیے۔ یہ آنکھیں وہ تھیں جنہیں جنت دوزخ دکھائی دیتی تھی اور یہ ہمیں بھی دکھانا چاہتے تھے اور ہم نے نکال کر امریکہ کو پیش کر دیں۔ وہ دل جو لاالٰہ پر دھڑکتا تھا ہم نے وزیرستان جاکر آدھا امریکہ کو پیش کر دیا ۔ اب باقی آدھے کا مطالبہ اوباما نے رکھ دیا۔ کہئے اہلِ پاکستان کیا خیال ہے؟…؎ قم باذن اللہ کہہ سکتے تھے جو رخصت ہوئے خانقاہوں میں مجاور رہ گئے یا گورکن لہٰذا اب گورکن بصد آہ، نالہ قبریں کھود رہے ہیں۔ بلیک واٹر اور را کے دھماکوں میں کیڑے مکوڑوں کی طرح مرنے سے کیا بہتر نہ تھا کہ ہم ان حقیقی دشمنوں کا سر توڑ کر شہادت سے سرفراز ہوتے۔ بجائے واہموں کے تعاقب میں ملک تباہ کر دینے کے۔ اْمتِ مسلمہ سے منہ موڑ کر امریکہ کی بانہوں میں باہیں ڈال کر ہم اْلفت کی جن راہوں پر چلے تھے آج یہ حرام محبت کا رشتہ اپنے منطقی انجام کو پہنچ رہا ہے۔ اسکی خاطر ہم نے اپنے محبوب بھائیوں کے منہ نوچ ڈالے قبروں کے منہ کھول دئیے دہشت گرد، CIA کے ایجنٹ، نہ صرف بدترین گالی ہے بلکہ لعنت ہی کی مانند۔

نبی  کے فرمان کیمطابق یہ دینے والے کے سر سے اوپر اٹھتی ہے اس شخص تک جاتی ہے اور جھوٹ پا کر واپس دینے والے پر پلٹ آتی ہے۔ واللہ یہ گالی ہمیں آخرت میں تو شدید مہنگی پڑیگی آج جیتے جی بھی ہم اسی کو بھگت رہے ہیں۔ کفر کیخلاف لڑنے کیلئے سر ہتھیلی پر لئے پھرنے والے تو CIA کے ایجنٹ ٹھہرے اور ہم امریکی جنگ میں ملک تباہ کرنے، عیش و طرب میں لتھڑے، ڈالر جیبوں میں ٹھونسے بڑے پاکباز ہوگئے؟۔ زبانیں روکئے۔ کفر کیساتھ مجبوراً جنگ بدر میں نکل کر آنیوالے کمزور مسلمانوں کا حال قرآن میں ثبت ہے۔ کیا ہم اس کے منتظر ہیں کہ امریکہ کے آگے بندھے محبوب غلاموں کی طرح صلیبی لشکر کا حصہ بنیں اور انجام یہ ہو۔ خدانخواستہ۔ ’جو لوگ اپنے نفس پر ظلم کر رہے تھے ان کی روحیں جب فرشتوں نے قبض کیں تو ان سے پوچھا کہ یہ تم کس حال میں مبتلا تھے؟ انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ ہم زمین میں کمزور و مجبور تھے۔ فرشتوں نے کہا، کیا خدا کی زمین وسیع نہ تھی کہ تم اس میں ہجرت کرتے؟ یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جن کا ٹھکانہ جہنم ہے اور وہ بڑا ہی برا ٹھکانہ ہے۔ (النسائ97-) سادگی کا عالم دیکھئے کہ ہم کہہ رہے ہیں را قبائلی علاقے کو پاکستان سے الگ کرنا چاہتا تھا کامیاب نہ ہوسکا۔ ’را‘ کو تو ہم کب کا اسکے کاموں سے فارغ کر کے اپنی ’را‘ خود کھول چکے ہیں۔ اپنے Ivory Towers سے نکل کر ذرا قبائل سے تو پوچھ کر دیکھئے۔ چلئے اپنے دل ہی سے پوچھ لیجئے۔ جس ملک میں آپکے گھر کی اینٹ سے اینٹ بجا دی جائے آپ کڑکتی سردی میں خیمے میں ننھے بچے لئے بیٹھے ہوں۔ آپکے بچوں کا سکول (مدرسہ) آپ کا کلب (مسجد) جو آپکی دلچسپیوں کا مرکز تھا ڈھا دیا جائے۔ آپکے جوان بیٹے ناکردہ گناہ پر جیل میں ٹھونس دئیے جائیں۔ یہی حال آپکے سب بہن بھائیوں، بھتیجوں، بھانجوں پر مسلط کر دیا جائے تو آپ کیا اس ملک کی محبت کے راگ الاپیں گیں؟ نکل آئیے اپنے عشرت کدوں اور خوابگاہوں سے اور بابائے قوم کی محنتوں بوڑھی ہڈیوں کا لٹتا ثمر دیکھئے جس سے محبت کے آپ گن گاتے ہیں۔ شہیدوں کا خون، لٹتی عصمتوں کی قربانیوںکو کالے پانیوں (بلیک واٹر) کی بھینٹ چڑھتے دیکھئے۔ طالبان دشمنی (اسلام دشمنی) اور امریکہ دوستی نے پاکستان تباہ کر دیا۔ اب تو سچ بولیئے۔

شجاع جو یونیورسٹی سے اچانک غائب ہوگیا تھا کل اس سے پچیس برس بعد ملاقات ہوئی۔ اس نے بتایا کہ وہ امریکہ چلا گیا تھا۔ وہاں
پیپر میرج کی، ڈپارٹمنٹل سٹورز اور گیس سٹیشنوں پر کام کیا اور پچھلے دس برس سے ایل اے میں ایک ادارے کے ساتھ وابستہ ہے جو
ہالی وڈ کے ستاروں اور انہیں ستارہ بنانے والوں کو سیکورٹی فراہم کرتا ہے۔
میں نے کہا گھر چلو باقی گفتگو وہیں کرنا۔ شجاع کو ہر ٹریفک سگنل پر بھکاری بچے، پھول فروخت کرنے والی بچیوں اور اخبار فروش
لڑکوں کو دیکھ کر اتنی ہی حیرت ہوئی جتنی حیرت کی میں کسی بھی بیس پچیس برس بعد وطن آنے والے پاکستانی سے توقع کرتا ہوں۔
‘یار یہاں تو لوگ پہلے سے بھی زیادہ بھیک مانگ رہے ہیں۔ یار یہ کتنی پیاری بچی ہے اور کوئی اس کے پاؤں میں جوتی پہنانے والا
نہیں ہے۔ یار سِول سوسائٹی اتنی بے حس کیوں ہے۔ یار حکومت کو یہ بچے کیوں دکھائی نہیں دیتے۔ یار این جی اوز کہاں مرگئی
ہیں۔۔۔’
ایک ٹریفک سگنل پر اچانک شجاع چیخا، گاڑی سائڈ پر لگاؤ۔ میں نے کہا کیوں۔ وہ وہ کتنا معصوم بچہ ہے جو اخبار بیچ رہا ہے، میں
اس کی مدد کرنا چاہتا ہوں۔ میں نے کسی بھی طرح کی حیرت ظاہر کیے بغیر گاڑی سائڈ پر روک لی۔
شجاع نے اشارے سے بچے کو بلایا۔ بچہ کئی گاڑیاں پھلانگتا تقریباً دوڑتا ہوا آیا۔ تم کیا کرتے ہو بچے؟ جی میں یہیں اخبار بیچتا
ہوں۔ سکول کیوں نہیں جاتے؟ جی باپ نہیں ہے، ماں اور بہن بھائیوں کا بوجھ سر پر ہے۔ اگر میں تمہیں ہر مہینے سکول کی فیس اور
گھر کے لیے کچھ پیسے باقاعدگی سے دوں تو پھر سکول جاؤ گے؟ کیوں نہیں بابو جی، اللہ آپ کو اس کا اجر دے گا۔ لیکن تمہیں کچھ
وعدے کرنے پڑیں گے۔ وہ کیا بابوجی؟ ایک تو تم مجھے اپنے گھر والوں سے ملواؤ گے، میں خود تمہارے گھر کی حالت دیکھنا چاہتا
ہوں۔ دوسرا تمہارا ایک بینک اکاؤنٹ کھلواؤں گا جس میں تمہارے لیے پیسے بھیج سکوں۔ تیسرا یہ کہ تم ہر مہینے اپنے سکول کی
پروگریس رپورٹ بھیجو گے اور اگر مجھے پروگریس رپورٹ نہیں ملی تو اگلے مہینے سے پیسے بند، کیا سمجھے؟ بچے نے ایک جمائی لیتے
ہوئے کہا بابو جی ایک بات پوچھوں؟ پوچھو کیا پوچھنا ہے؟

آپ کیری لوگر ہیں نا؟

Dear Secretary Clinton,
Whilst the message from you and your government is that of peace and friendship, the Kerry Lugar Bill passed by your legislative branch has been one of the main stumbling blocks in this mission. The assumption that Pakistanis have misunderstood the bill is equally faulty. Pakistanis have read the bill and understood your intent to micromanage Pakistan, to curtail Pakistan’s nuclear expansion program and to direct the war against extremism in Pakistan from White House.
What follows below is an understanding of the bill which needs to be amended if relations between US and patriotic Pakistanis have to be established. Your assertion that if we have issues with the bill we don’t need to take the money is ‘spot on’; patriotic Pakistanis have rejected your mere $1.5 billion. We will not negotiate on our country’s sovereignty and defence. And these are not mere slogans. They are based on facts which we read out of your conditionalities which do exist. And here are the facts Secretary Clinton:
1. The most controversial clause in the bill pertains to giving US ‘direct access to Pakistani nationals associated with such networks’. The explanation given in the note is equally unacceptable because it wants ‘cooperative efforts’ to combat proliferation to continue. This cooperation mentioned is intrusive since it demands ‘direct access’. Secretary Clinton, we have already handled our proliferators and believe in non proliferation. This we consider a breach of our sovereignty.
2. The reference to Pakistan military and intelligence agencies being involved in giving support to terrorists in the past is equally offensive. This is a clause which enables the Indian lobby to target Pakistan and hold it responsible for all future terrorist acts in the region.
3. The other issue pertains to the fact that President Obama’s regional security strategy will include working with ‘relevant governments and organizations in the region and elsewhere.’ The strategy which could include RAW and Mossad would be imposed on Pakistan for US national interest not Pakistan. And as such we cannot give the authority of making Pakistan’s security strategy to a US President.
4. There are references to expansion of Container Security Initiative at various Pakistani ports which we consider a security hazard.
5. The term sanctuary for terrorism implies that Pakistan is a failed state as is included in intelligence reforms and Terrorism Prevention Act 2004.
6. Bill allows ‘irregular forces to be used for US combat operations in Pakistan’ as stated in the Ronald Reagan Act 2005. This in effect gives legal cover to the Dynocores and Blackwaters which we Pakistanis have major issues with and consider a threat to our security.
7. The bill micromanages Pakistan’s important federal government agencies from education, madrassah’s to trade, to judiciary, to natural resources. All aid given will be to NGOs and if more than $100,000 is given those NGO files will become classified. As such Pakistan will not have access to such operations. This we consider an attempt by US to create its own financial political power bases for future.
8. Approximately $860 million of the aid will go back to US in the form of administrative expenses etc. This truly reflects badly on the actual impact on an average Pakistani’s life.
Here were some of the issues with the bill. Now let’s examine what aggravates Pakistani sensitivities with regards to current US policies. And why you are not welcome in Pakistan by patriotic Pakistanis. This might help you understand why over 80% of Pakistanis have issues with your policies as per certain reliable surveys.
1. Firstly, the US stance in the war against extremism is biased towards protecting Indian and Afghan interests. The TTP and Baloch terrorists have been using these two countries and their resources as bases for their operations inside Pakistan as is proven by Pak military evidence. Whilst you consider Pakistan to be sovereign our aid is linked to these two countries which we find distasteful.
2. Whilst Pakistan’s nuclear program is an issue for US, the Indian nuclear program (civil nuclear technology agreement) is being allowed to expand without any blockades.
3. Whilst you have personally complemented Pak military efforts in your recent visit, at the same time there are conditionalities in giving aid to Pakistan to strengthen its military against terrorists. Certainly these terrorists are linked to India and as such conditionalities are one sided. Moreover, if Pakistan military is being complemented why can’t it be trusted with drone technology? Additionally US policy wishes to strengthen Pakistan’s parliament and yet it ignores the resolution passed by Pakistani parliament against drone attacks.
4. Whilst Pakistan is a frontline state which has paid dearly in terms of men lost in battle with terrorists, US considers India and Pakistan to be equals. Where is the advantage Pakistan should get for cooperating on terrorism? $1.5 billion is a joke compared to the billions spent in Afghanistan and Iraq, even in Turkey and Egypt. As well as the fact that no where with other allies has US imposed intrusive conditionalities.
5. Whilst Pakistan is blamed for terrorist sanctuaries how many infiltrators coming from India and Afghanistan specifically have you managed to stop?
6. The commitment for ROZs looks like its dithering. Where is the actual support for the tribals who have suffered the most in the war being fought to destabilize Pakistan?

UN report confirms that after US entry into Afghanistan opium production has increased manifold. This is impacting Pakistan’s security since it’s ready financing for terrorism inside Pakistan.

If you wish to improve Pak-US bilateral, a more productive approach would have been to not justify the bill on arrival but rather to give an open ear to the criticisms with a commitment to amending it. Since there have been no such commitments it seems fruitless to meet with you. This is even more disturbing considering that you have been given plenty of evidence of Pakistani uproar on the bill before your arrival. It’s a pity that the bill was executed minus real Pakistani input. This has no doubt created a diplomatic fiasco for the US. Instead of underestimating the fiasco or considering it a result of Pakistani lack of comprehension, it would have been better to deal with it head on: amending the bill being the only viable option.
Pakistan might have a government which is beholden to you for its future longevity, but there are patriotic Pakistanis who will defend the soil before accepting your policies of creating a US fiefdom in Pakistan. As a young parliamentarian, I would only welcome you to Pakistan once we have evidence of your shift in policy so that Pakistan is dealt with as a sovereign country.
